Our company exhibited at Anime Expo 2026, the largest anime convention in North America, held in Los Angeles, USA, from July 2 to 5, 2026. This marked our third consecutive year at the event, and our booth was roughly nine times the size of last year’s. Throughout the four-day event, we welcomed a steady stream of visitors each day. The highlight of this year’s exhibit was the unveiling of “emaqi Premium,” our new cross-publisher subscription service, which launched on July 1. The booth featured a variety of interactive experiences that visitors could enjoy firsthand, giving countless anime and manga fans the opportunity to discover the appeal of the titles available on emaqi. Please see below for more details and highlights from the event.■Key Highlights and Results【1】Manga GalleryWe installed large panels for each publisher showcasing titles available on emaqi Premium, creating a space where visitors could discover both familiar favorites and new series. We heard reactions such as, “Wait, I can read this here!” and “This looks interesting!” We also set up several demo smartphones so visitors could try the emaqi app on the spot. Many downloaded the app right away, making this a valuable opportunity for fans to experience the appeal of our cross-publisher subscription service firsthand.【2】Manga Truck, Our Mobile Manga LibraryLast year, our mobile manga library, the Manga Truck, was set up outdoors. This year, we brought it inside the booth. The truck was stocked with approximately 350 volumes, ranging from popular titles to hidden gems that remain relatively unknown locally. New this year, we transformed the truck into a photo booth. Visitors could have their photos printed in an original frame to take home and also receive digital copies via SMS, allowing them to preserve their memories both physically and digitally. The truck drew lines every day and became one of the most popular attractions in the entire booth.【3】 "Plinko," a Mini-Game That Sparked New DiscoveriesIn Plinko, players dropped a coin from the top of the board and received between two and ten specially illustrated cards, depending on where the coin landed. Each card featured cover art from one of 50 titles available on emaqi Premium. For many participants, the game offered a fun way to discover a series they had never heard of before, making it one of this year’s standout attractions.【4】Trading Card Area, Where Fans Connected Over Shared PassionAlongside Plinko, we created a trading area where visitors could exchange the cards they had won for others. Conversations such as, “Oh, you know this series?” and “Can we trade cards?” arose naturally among fans throughout the day. Visitors could trade in several ways: by selecting cards laid out on the table, exchanging cards with staff members holding additional decks, or trading directly with fellow attendees. The excitement around trading continued to grow as the event progressed, and the area remained crowded through the final day. It quickly became known as one of the busiest and liveliest corners of the entire booth.【5】"Recommend-a-Manga Board," Built Entirely by FansWe set up a board where fans could recommend titles they wanted others to discover and add their own comments. Day by day, the board filled with more and more recommendations. It became something that fans built together: a place where writing allowed them to share the joy of a favorite series, while reading offered the excitement of discovering something new.【6】"Letters to the Author" Mailbox, Delivering Messages Straight from FansWe installed a mailbox modeled after Japan’s iconic red mailboxes, where visitors could write and send fan letters to Japanese manga creators. Many fans participated in this special experience, made possible through an official platform like emaqi, and shared their heartfelt appreciation directly with the creators they admire.Every letter collected will be carefully delivered to the creators in Japan.■Looking AheadDuring our third consecutive year at Anime Expo, we could clearly sense emaqi’s growing recognition among fans. The event also provided a meaningful opportunity for many visitors to experience emaqi Premium firsthand following its launch on July 1.Through interactive experiences such as the Manga Truck photo booth and our mini-games, we were able not only to raise awareness of the new service but also to build deeper connections with fans.Going forward, we will continue to strengthen our partnerships with publishers in Japan and around the world. Through both in-person events and digital initiatives, we will work to bring the appeal of these titles and emaqi to fans worldwide.
